Updated over a year ago

Note: This guide is specifically for users who have their email hosted directly on Microsoft. If you purchased your Microsoft account through GoDaddy, please follow an alternative guide:

Enabling SMTP authentication in your Microsoft account is a breeze! Just follow these steps:

  • You'll now see a list of active users. Find the one you're working on.

  • Click on the display name of the user, and a handy side window will appear.

  • In the side window, look for the "Mail" tab and click on it. Then, select "Manage Email Apps."

  • Ensure that the "Authenticated SMTP" and "IMAP" options are checked. This is a crucial step!

  • Don't forget to save your changes! Look for the save option and click it.

That's it! You've successfully enabled SMTP authentication for your Outlook account. If you get stuck anywhere, just refer back to these steps or seek help.
