So, you've hopped on the Success.ai train, and now you're ready to spice up your email game with some custom variables! But, hold on—unsure what these magical variables are in the world of email marketing? Let's break it down.

Think of variables as your email's personal touch, like secret codes that bring a touch of uniqueness to your campaigns. These nifty placeholders let you inject some generic text into your messages. Exciting, right?

Now, here's the lowdown: you can only add these special variables when you're uploading your leads, whether it's via a CSV file or the ever-handy Google Sheet.

Ready to give your emails that extra flair? Follow these easy steps:

Step 1: Head to the campaign tab:

Navigate to the campaign tab like a pro. It's your starting point for crafting emails that stand out!

Step 2: Next add a new campaign or click on an existing campaign if you want to edit one:

Then select lead:

Then import:

Then select upload CSV or google sheet:

You can add a new column heading in your CSV in the example below we used state:

Step 3: Then save the CSV and upload.

Once done, ensure the state section is matched with custom variable:

Then upload all.

In the sequence section:

You should see the option to insert the custom variable you added when you click on the variable icon.
